THE IMPACT OF TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP ON EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT

This research investigates the impact of transformational leadership on employee engagement. Objectives are: (1) to assess the effectiveness of transformational leadership in fostering engagement, (2) to analyze its impact on employee motivation and productivity, and (3) to identify key transformational practices that enhance engagement. A survey design is chosen for its ability to provide quantitative insights from numerous respondents. Using Taro Yamane's formula, the sample size is 340, ensuring accuracy and reliability. The study focuses on the hospitality sector in Lagos, Nigeria, where employee engagement is crucial. The reliability coefficient score is 0.87, indicating consistent results. Findings reveal that transformational leadership significantly enhances employee engagement, with leaders who inspire and motivate employees driving higher levels of commitment and productivity. Recommendations include implementing leadership development programs that focus on transformational skills to boost employee engagement.
